Let Them Know You Care

When sisters in Christ suffer unimaginable cruelty for their faith in Jesus, we cannot look away.

“Relatives of a 20-year-old Christian woman … raped her and nearly killed her mother for their faith in Christ,” reports Morning Star News.

“Since we started to attend church six years ago, my father’s elder brother and his family have begun persecuting us in whatever way possible,” the woman explained.

The woman, her younger sister, and their mother were working their family’s farmland when their uncle and three cousins confronted them over ownership of the land. The argument turned violent.

The men brutally attacked their mother before dragging the older daughter into a nearby house, where she was raped. The two daughters eventually escaped into the jungle.

“One cousin hit my mother on her head with the axe,” she said, “and the second one hit her with a spade on her chest. They hit her repeatedly, till she collapsed in a pool of her own blood.” She barely survived and was later treated at a nearby hospital.

“We refused to give up our faith, and now they have gone to [this] extent.”

This kind of familial persecution is shameful, evil, and despicable … and yet it happens daily in hostile communities worldwide.
