Uplift Hurting Members of the Body of Christ 

“Muslim Father Attempts to Burn Christian Daughters Alive.” 

This is the International Christian Concern (ICC) headline I saw this week. Proof that following Jesus can literally be a death sentence in other nations. 

Amina and Shamila live in Uganda. Earlier this month, the two awoke around midnight one night to flames engulfing their home. 

“Their father, Muhamud, had doused the house with petrol, then set it alight while the girls slept inside,” reports ICC. “He had told them he would act to fulfill Islamic law since they had rejected Islam when they converted to Christianity” last month. 

Thankfully, the sisters survived, but their home was almost completely destroyed. Despite the tragedy, Amina says: 

“We are happy to say that the fire consumed our shelter but did not consume our faith and hope in Jesus Christ.” 

• Christ-followers worldwide suffer GREATLY for their faith.  

• And yet HOPE remains in their hearts … a beautiful testament to what knowing Jesus does for a person facing hatred, trouble, and strife.
