“A stronghold in times of trouble.”
— Psalm 9:9

Aweis* knew the danger of following Jesus in Somalia from the moment his father threatened to kill him if he became a Christian.
After giving his life to Christ, says Open Doors, he was cut off from his family and spent seven years alone in his faith.
Eventually, he found other believers, but persecution devastated their growing group. Today, despite the danger, Aweis continues serving Somali Christians across the Horn of Africa.
“In Somalia, it seems impossible to become a Christian — the persecution is so intense that, when people count the cost, some may decide not to risk it,” he explains. “Those who take the plunge know they’ll lose so much. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, they do it.”
As you stand with Liberty Relief International with a generous gift today, you’ll also be standing with fellow Christians like Aweis by helping local, on-the-ground partners meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,” Psalm 9:9 says, “a stronghold in times of trouble.”
Your generous support right now will remind our persecuted family of the stronghold they have in God the Father … and in fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in a distant land who care about their safety and well-being.
We are called to help the suffering.
Please pray for Aweis — for his protection — for his witness — and that he will touch many more lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In His service,
