Minister To The "Poor in Distress"

Jul 30, 2026

Be the Lifeline They Need

I read Isaiah 25:4 the other day — it’s a verse our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ might pray in their anguish:

For You have been a stronghold for the helpless,
A stronghold for the poor in his distress,
A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the ruthless
Is like a rain storm against a wall.

The “breath of the ruthless” is pervasive in countries where it’s dangerous to be a Christian.

In Pakistan, for example, “Muslims who had gang raped a 14-year-old Christian girl attacked her relatives in an attempt to force them to withdraw the rape case,” reports Gatestone Institute.

A local parish priest says, “There are about 30 Christian families in this village, and the accused had publicly threatened that Christian homes would be burned if the victims family did not agree to a settlement.

Elsewhere, in Europe, a man attacked three neighbors with an axe because, according to him, he had felt the call of Allah and that all Christians must die.’”

There is unspeakable pain for the persecuted in this world. Far more than you or I can, comprehend.

But the eternal reward awaiting these believers is also unimaginably far more than we can grasp.

Will you please give today to minister to the helpless who need a stronghold?

Will you tangibly support and pray for those who need a refuge from the storm?

Thank you. God bless you.

In His service,

Mat Staver
