In Pakistan: Exploiting Blasphemy Laws For Profit

Jun 23, 2026

Your Compassion Encourages the Persecuted

You’ve heard about false blasphemy charges against believers in other countries … Pakistan is one of the worst offenders.

According to International Christian Concern (ICC), a growing criminal network is exploiting blasphemy laws for profit — using false accusations, corrupt officials, arrests, extortion, and even violence to target innocent people.

Christians and other religious minorities are especially vulnerable, ICC reports, and they’re living under constant fear that a single accusation could destroy their lives, families, and communities.

Simon,* a Pakistani brother in Christ there, “confirmed that most blasphemy accusations these days pertain to alleged behavior on social media platforms. He said some people stalk Pakistani religious minorities online and bait them into saying something that could be construed as blasphemous. ‘If they target someone, then they try to find any loophole in their [social media] posts that can be exploited.’”

ICC adds that the “number of blasphemy cases in 2024 increased by a factor of almost 50 times since 2020.”

What a shame. What a tragedy that our brothers and sisters in Christ are being treated with such hate.

But through LRI, you can be a lifeline to fellow Christ-followers who need immediate help — in Pakistan and beyond.

Your tax-deductible donation today will minister to Christians and their families who are severely persecuted for their faith … provide emotional support to believers who fear for their lives ... and much more.

Your generosity will also provide Bibles, discipleship materials, and spiritual resources to those in need.

Thank you for your partnership in this desperately needed work. And may God bless you for being Christ’s hands and feet.

In His service,
