Listen To Their Stories, Have Compassion For Their Plight

Ease Their Burdens, Be Their Lifeline

It is a privilege for you and me to listen to the stories of our persecuted brothers and sisters and feel compassion for their plight the way our Heavenly Father does … while helping shoulder the burdens they carry.

Firsthand accounts from persecuted believers are key to understanding their suffering.

People like Ali, Zahra, and their sons intimately know pain.

They were forced to leave their home country of Iran when the persecution and oppression they endured simply became too much to bear.

Members of this family were:

  • Spied on, harassed, interrogated, threatened.

  • Tricked, handcuffed, and blindfolded by agents.

  • Whisked away “to a jail cell with no lights, toilet or blanket.”

  • Forced to suffer verbal, psychological, and physical torture.

“If there was a way, we would have been in Iran now,” Ali told one of LRI’s partners. “We had two choices: to stay and suffer, especially our children, or to [leave] and reach a relative peace.”

The family ended up in Turkey. But even here, they are unable to work legally, don’t speak the language fluently, and “need police permission to travel more than a few miles from their home.”

But Ali’s mind is set — and his faith is beyond inspiring: “When I became a Christian, I said to myself, my family, my country, and everything are behind me.”

What devotion, my friend!

As you stand with Liberty Relief International with a generous gift today, you’ll also be standing with fellow Christians like Ali and his family by helping local, on-the-ground partners meet their most urgent needs ... as well as provide tangible, desperately needed hope through trauma counseling, spiritual and emotional support, and much more.

“The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,” Psalm 9:9 says, “a stronghold in times of trouble.”

Your generous support right now will remind our persecuted family of the stronghold they have in God the Father ... and in fellow believers in distant lands.

As Christians, we are called to help the suffering.

You have my deepest gratitude for your generosity and prayers!

In His service,

Mat Staver
