State Department Takes Action Concerning Nigeria

Dec 9, 2025

Stand With the Persecuted

Finally ...

Some more traction when it comes to the genocide taking place in Nigeria.

International Christian Concern just reported:

“The U.S. Department of State [has] opened the door for travel sanctions against Nigeria’s leaders who violate religious freedom.

“‘The United States is taking decisive action in response to the mass killings and violence against Christians by radical Islamic terrorists, Fulani ethnic militias, and other violent actors in Nigeria and beyond,’ the State Department said.”

Its action? The restriction of visa issuances to those “who have directed, authorized, significantly supported, participated in, or carried out violations of religious freedom and, where appropriate, their immediate family members.”

On the global stage, this is a step in the right direction ...

From your heart to theirs, so is your support. I urge you to give generously today to empower LRI’s ministry partners to do the practical, on-the-ground work of uplifting and encouraging — helping and feeding — displaced, hungry, or mourning believers who face a daily threat of violence.

Please stand with the persecuted.

Reach out in love and compassion.

Act on their behalf.

And may God bless you for your response and your prayers for hurting members of the body of Christ.

In His service,

Mat Staver
