The "Forgotten Crisis" in Mali

Nov 18, 2025

Christians in Mali, Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan,
and Elsewhere Need Your Support

Believers in the No. 14 country on Open Doors’ World Watch List are seeing persecution intensify right in front of their eyes.

Christians in Mali are suffering under escalating terrorism — as al-Qaida-linked militants tighten blockades and seize territory across the Sahel region of Africa, according to Mission Network News.

Fuel and food shortages are strangling daily life, and our brothers and sisters in Christ are being targeted with widespread brutality.

As Open Doors analyst Illia Djadi explains, “This is a forgotten crisis, but it’s a major crisis which has displaced millions in the Sahel and elsewhere.”

“They will tell Christians, ‘This is the deal: convert to Islam, or be killed.’”

Many Christians have to flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Please have compassion on Mali’s Christian communities … and donate to LRI for their sake today.

Mali, Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan ...

These nations and many others across Africa are home to some of the worst oppression and persecution of Christians you can imagine.

They need a lifeline today ...

They need you, my friend.

Please lift them up in your prayers, and give today as God leads you. Thank you.

In His service,

Mat Staver
