The Worst Persecution Worldwide Takes Place in the Name of Islam

Sep 9, 2025

Uplift the Downtrodden One Life at a Time

You and I know the following to be true, but it’s past time for the rest of the world to take notice.

Noting the top countries on the 2025 Open Doors World Watch List, Gatestone Institute reports that “most of the ‘extreme persecution’ meted out to Christians in nine of these 13 worst nations continues to come either from Islamic oppression, or occurs in nations with large Muslim populations. Significantly, this means that approximately 70% of the absolute worst (‘extreme’) persecution around the globe takes place under the aegis, or in the name, of Islam.”

In addition, “the persecution of Christians by Muslims is perennial, existential, and far transcends this or that ruler or regime. Persecution of the ‘other’ in Islam is part of its history, doctrines and socio-political makeup.”

It’s genocide on a global scale ... but that doesn’t mean you and I cannot make a difference.

Here’s what I urge you to do today:

  • Pray for the persecuted suffering greatly in Islamist nations and elsewhere.

  • Forward this message to friends and family members who can join you in raising awareness about radical Islam’s evil and how it impacts Christians worldwide.

  • Give generously to support Liberty Relief International.

Your donation will send practical humanitarian relief — emergency food, water, shelter, and safety — to believers in need of immediate support and those who have been displaced by abuse or oppression from their families and communities, Islamist violence, civil war, or political unrest.

You’ll also help our Christ-centered partners on the ground offer trauma counseling, literacy and job training, assistance in rebuilding churches and homes that have been attacked or destroyed ... plus Bibles, discipleship training, faith-based materials, spiritual encouragement, and much more.

Every one of 380+ million people facing persecution in this world is a living, breathing Christ-follower in great need ...

Thank you in advance for your compassionate response today on their behalf — for uplifting the downtrodden one person at a time.

In His service,

Mat Staver
