Strengthen and Support the Persecuted

Two headlines caught my attention today — both from International Christian Concern:

• ADF Attacks Village, Kills 9 Christians [in the Democratic Republic of Congo]

• Islamic Extremists Kill 4 Christians [in Nigeria]

I sit here with a heavy heart … but also with a hopeful one, knowing you’re a friend to the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the orphan, stranger, and widow, and that their plight doesn’t fall on deaf ears.

Violence against our brothers and sisters in other nations happens so frequently — and so far away geographically — that it may be “easy” to dismiss when another brutal attack occurs.

But I urge you: Don’t dismiss the need today — whether it happens in North Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, or elsewhere.
