The Maldives Is No Paradise for Christians

Minister to the Weak and Weary

“The Maldives is an island paradise popular for welcoming tourists from around the world,” says Open Doors, “but the welcome sadly doesn’t extend to Maldivians who choose to follow Jesus.”

Ranked number 16 out of the top 50 countries where it’s most dangerous to be a Christian, the Maldives is heavily Muslim … and believers there are constantly watched and targeted.

Open Doors explains: “Those who leave Islam must keep their faith secret. It’s so dangerous that husbands, wives and children may even hide their faith from one another. If discovered, believers may be stripped of their citizenship, isolated from society and lose their state benefits for violating Sharia (Islamic law).”

But such opposition doesn’t keep our on-the-ground partners from sharing the truth of the gospel or helping people who feel lonely, forgotten, or oppressed.

And today, we need your support.

Stand with Liberty Relief International, and you’ll be part of life-changing, hope-giving comfort and care that extends the hands of Jesus to those who need it most.

Every meal, every kind word, every Bible, and every hug is given from the heart …

Every conversation and every encounter spurred on by Christ’s love.

The Lord’s “strength is made perfect in weakness” — and it is to the weak and the weary, in places like the Maldives, that LRI’s partners minister with compassion and care.

Thank you for making it possible!

In His Service,

Mat Staver
