Stand for Those Facing Retaliation and Violence

In a village in eastern Uganda, Wanjala — a 32-year-old teacher at an Islamic school — made a decision that would cost him everything.

On October 4, he became a Christian at an evangelistic event. Just 17 days later, on October 21, four of his brothers came to his school and took him home.

There, they ordered him to renounce his newfound faith. When Wanjala refused, his brothers beat him to death while shouting “Infidel!” — declaring his choice had brought shame to their family.

Wanjala’s story is one of countless examples of believers who pay the ultimate price for their faith in Jesus. In many regions around the world, the decision to follow Christ isn’t just a spiritual choice — it’s a dangerous one that can lead to rejection, violence, kidnapping, wrongful imprisonment, and sometimes death.
