Displaced Christians: An "Easy Target"

Jan 16, 2025

Provide Humanitarian Aid and Spiritual Support

It’s difficult for Christians in the West to imagine what atrocities befall believers in other nations around the world where persecution is rampant.

Our persecuted brothers and sisters are targeted and harassed, driven underground, attacked by mobs, killed by Islamists, wrongfully imprisoned … and even forced to flee their homes and communities — sometimes leaving their homeland altogether, forever.

Open Doors says:

“The persecuted church is, increasingly, a displaced church, exiled to refugee or IDP (internally displaced people) camps. Sudan (5 [on the 2025 World Watch List]) is facing the largest displacement crisis in the world: in a country of 49 million people, the number of IDPs by mid-2024 had surpassed 7.7 million. For already vulnerable Christians, the loss of home and community make them even more of an easy target.”

An “easy target” indeed ...

But you and I have the opportunity to target persecuted believers with something else:

Love, care, and support.

Your generous giving to Liberty Relief International, enables our local partners to respond with humanitarian aid and spiritual support where they’re most needed.

You essentially become — and your giving continues to be — a lifeline to people faced with unimaginable pain.

I urge you to give today to ...

  1. Provide emergency food, water, shelter, and safety to believers in need of immediate support amid unrest and violence.
  2. Offer trauma counseling, literacy and job training to people starting life over, assistance in rebuilding churches and homes that have been attacked or destroyed ... plus Bibles, discipleship training materials, and more.

You and I are blessed to be a blessing.

Let's make a difference in the lives of persecuted Christians living in dangerous places around the globe today. Thank you!

In His Service,

Mat Staver
