The Conflict in Syria Escalating

Dec 10, 2024

Send Help and Hope!

Will you take a moment right now to pray for the situation in Syria?

A message I received from Open Doors reveals that urgent prayer is needed after rebels took control of Aleppo:

“Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are an Islamist opposition group supported by Türkiye, and their arrival in Syria’s second largest city has led to a quick exodus by thousands of civilians, including Christians.

“Since the start of the offensive [right before Thanksgiving], it’s been reported that 446 people have been killed, including 61 civilians. What is less clear is the long-term impact on Aleppo’s 20,000 Christians, who have already suffered so much through more than a decade of conflict and persecution.”

As you pray, I also urge you to “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” (Luke 6:36).

God’s Word is clear about the importance of caring for others — about mirroring the heart of Christ and turning your compassion into action for the sake of the vulnerable. Please give generously to minister to men, women, and children who need practical help immediately.

Millions of Christians around the world face threats from Islamic terrorism, persecution, war, civil conflict, and more.

And each one deserves to know and feel God’s love in a tangible way.

Your generosity right now and continued prayers for Syrian believers will share hope amid uncertainty and violent circumstances.

Share Christ’s love today through physical aid, food, water, shelter, medical care, spiritual support, trauma counseling, and more.

Thank you for being a lifeline to people facing the unimaginable.

In His service,

Mat Staver
