Daily life is difficult and uncertain for Christ-followers in Afghanistan. Taliban terrorists are always on the prowl for “infidels” who have turned from Islam to Jesus.
But one widow, Medina, is seeing the fruit of the Gospel taking root. She told Open Doors:
“Some people are growing weary of Islam and turning to Christ; in Him, they find love, faith and comfort, and are able to feel at peace despite their hardships.”
Believers in Afghanistan are under intense pressure to keep their faith a secret … to further isolate themselves from Muslim family members, neighbors, co-workers.
But God sees them. He knows their struggle. The Spirit is moving. And the Lord strengthens Christians — whether they’ve followed Him for years or days — through friends like you.
Our Christ-centered frontline partners minister to men, women, and families threatened with abuse, torture, violence, and even death for their faith in Christ.
These partners also provide trauma counseling, emotional support, Bibles, discipleship training and materials ...
And practical, tangible love in Jesus’ name.
So thank you for providing them a lifeline as you reach out with compassion to brothers and sisters feeling isolated and facing abuse. I am grateful you see them too.
In His service,
Mat Staver
