Imagine yourself in Hila’s* shoes ...

• Growing up in Afghanistan — an Islamist-controlled nation and No. 10 on the Open Doors 2024 World Watch List.

• Being one of few women to get an education, let alone being allowed to study at university.

• Then, one day, your spouse goes “to another village to buy Bible study books,” she told Open Doors, “and [he] never returned.”

“He was sacrificed in the way of Christ,” Hila says.

Christians living in Afghanistan, Pakistan (No. 7 on the List), Iran (No. 9), and other nations where it’s highly dangerous, and often deadly, to follow Jesus face peril and uncertainty at every turn.
