The "Crime" of Christianity In Iran

Support Persecuted Sisters and Brothers in Their Plight

My heart goes out to brothers and sisters being thrown into prison for one of two reasons:

  1. For the “crime” of being Christian in hostile nations.

  2. Because they’ve been falsely charged with “blasphemy” against Islam.

According to Mission Network News, “Six Christians from a minority community in Iran just received sentences totaling 40 years behind bars. One believer who received a 15-year sentence stands accused of ‘threatening national security’ and ‘propaganda against the regime through promoting Christianity.’ Charges against the other five believers remain unknown.”

When so much deadly violence against Christians goes unnoticed worldwide …

While justice in many lands seems obsolete for those who follow Jesus …

You and I can rest assured that:

  • God, in His authority, will bring ultimate justice.

  • God can bring peace that passes understanding to imprisoned believers.

  • God’s Spirit can comfort the weary and downtrodden in their pain.

But please: Stand with LRI as we stand with brothers and sisters like these six in Iran.

Let struggling Christians like these — and others around the world — know you care.

As you pray for these six believers and their future in a hostile land, please remember to lift up sisters and brothers in other nations as well where being a Christian comes at a high cost.

Thank you, as always, for making a life-changing difference for people targeted for their religious beliefs. Your generosity and prayers are essential — they are a lifeline!

In His service,

Mat Staver
