I am deeply grateful for the firsthand accounts Open Doors provides — a window into what real Christians face in Islamic-oppressed lands ...
Saleh* is a believer in Yemen — which is No. 5 on the World Watch List — who faces severe danger for having started a network of house churches within the country. But Saleh is unmoved by whatever persecution may come:
“If we sit at home and do nothing, we would be safe. But what kind of Christians would we be if we weren’t risking our life for others to know Life?”
Ayesha*, from Somalia (No. 2 on the List), which is just south of Yemen across the Gulf of Aden, describes how complicated life can be once you’ve chosen Christ and know, without a doubt, that you’ll face hardship, discrimination … even the risk of death:
“I decided 100 times to leave Jesus and not to follow Him, but I couldn’t do it. I decided to follow Him.”
Being a Christian in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and elsewhere takes another level of faith I’m not sure most Americans can comprehend.
Believers in many nations are intensely monitored, brutally persecuted, and consistently marginalized — especially if they have converted to Christianity from Islam.
Would you please stand with them today to let them know they’re not alone?
Your support of Liberty Relief International helps ease suffering and shares the practical love of Jesus with those who face aggression, wrongful imprisonment, violence, and even death because of their faith.
Every donation — large or small — from caring friends like you translates into:
Tangible help and hope.
Emergency food, water, and shelter.
Medical care.
Trauma counseling.
Discipleship training for new believers.
Bibles and Bible study materials.
And more!
Christians in oppressive nations of the world are some of the most vulnerable members of their societies.
Please reach out to them today with the hands of our compassionate Savior.
Thank you.
In His service,
Mat Staver
