I doubt you are surprised that any of these countries rank this high on the list. Certain regions of Africa and the Middle East especially are a hotbed for violent persecution of Christians ...

• Believers in Nigeria and Sudan are routinely targeted. Christian communities are often raided, attacked, and burned … crops and homes destroyed ... women and children kidnapped by radical Islamists ... lives taken.

• And in places like Eritrea, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a believer’s faith in Christ is often kept a secret because of the severe, life-threatening retaliation that can ensue should family members or neighbors find out.
