Meet the Needs of Your Persecuted Sisters and Brothers

Hawa has seven children and is living in a refugee camp in South Sudan.

Life is hard for her family. Violence drove them from their home many years ago, and living conditions in the camp are difficult, with “food rations … in short supply,” Morning Star News reports.

But worse yet is the fact that her husband recently “beat her upon learning of her Christian faith” ...

“My husband told me, ‘Why did you believe in Issa [Jesus]? You are an infidel.’” Then he attacked Hawa.

And while such abuse is tragic and never warranted, it is commonplace in Islamic cultures. A local pastor said thousands of “refugees and internally displaced people in Sudan who have converted to Christianity from Islam all face the threat of persecution."

It’s unthinkable what believers in Islamist regions around the world must endure — often from their own family members and neighbors — because of their conversion to Christianity from Islam.
