As Christmas Draws Closer

Encourage Persecuted Christians at Christmas

It’s hard to imagine thinking your life could be at stake when you attend church to celebrate Christmas, but tragically it’s what many believers in Nigeria are forced to take precautions for.

“A series of lethal Christmas attacks on Nigerian Christians killed and maimed hundreds” last year, reports International Christian Concern.

“With this year’s Christmas drawing closer, many Nigerian Christians are thinking about more than Christ’s birth and festivities. ‘Considering the ongoing violence and persecution … it’s almost certain that many churches will have police or security personnel present,’ said Samuel, a Nigerian Christian.”

My heart aches knowing that innocent brothers and sisters are being relentlessly terrorized solely because of their faith — and that it impacts one of the holiest and most celebrated days of the year.

So I ask you boldly today: Stand with our persecuted family members in Christ!

Your generous gift to Liberty Relief International will help provide for persecuted Christians in desperate need of help and hope today.

Our partners on the ground in dangerous places like Nigeria offer:

  • Emergency aid like food, water, shelter, and safety.

  • Critically needed trauma counseling.

  • Literacy and job training.

  • Help in rebuilding churches and homes destroyed in attacks.

  • Bibles and study materials.

  • Discipleship training for new believers.

  • And more to meet the needs of oppressed Christians.

Your contribution to LRI will minister to those facing cruelty and the threat of attack.

Together, let’s honor and support our persecuted family today and every day — through prayer, advocacy, and action.

Thank you for your role in LRI’s efforts on their behalf — especially at this time of year!

In His service,

Mat Staver
