Reach Out to the Persecuted

Good news is good for the soul...

And today, I want to encourage you with a beautiful testimony from a former devout Muslim.

Christianity Today shares Al Fadi’s story, in his own words:

I had nothing but contempt for Christianity. I believed that Muslims were superior to all others, that all non-Muslims were infidels, and that Jesus was a prophet sent by Allah, not the divine Son of God. 

But as he studied the Quran, Al Fadi noticed a stirring within himself. Doubts about its truth crept in.

Once he finished college in his home country of Saudi Arabia and came to the U.S. to continue his education, he signed up for a program on campus … not knowing it was a Christian ministry.

After several months of getting to know the people he was paired with in the program, Al Fadi realized the gospel of Jesus Christ was actually driven by love, not the opposite, as he had previously believed.

He was eager to “learn more about how Jesus could make such a profound difference in someone’s life, offering the kind of peace and joy I had never seen before.”

Then, in 2001, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Although Al Fadi endured many trials, he learned to walk with the Lord day by day:

Within a matter of months, I lost my marriage due to unfaithfulness from my spouse, and I also lost my job. It felt like Satan was actively trying to destroy my faith. But these months taught me invaluable lessons about having a personal relationship with Jesus and learning to depend on him through all circumstances. During this time, God revealed his awesome glory to me in ways I could not deny or doubt.

Since then, my life has changed forever, and I am no longer the man I used to be.
