Send Help to the Hurting Now

Most people think of the island of Maui as a vacation destination ...
But did you know that Lahaina, the town most severely impacted by recent fires and destruction, is a historical site loved by our fellow believers?
“While Christians from all over have offered donations and prayers, it is locals who understand the scope and significance of the loss, concentrated around the place where Christianity first came to Maui,” Christianity Today reports.
"When Queen keopuolani — married to the ruler who united the Hawaiian Islands, King Kamehameha — moved to Lahaina in 1823, she invited two American missionaries who brought faith to the island. Americans William Richards and Charles Stewart taught Scripture to Keopuolani and prayed with her, and she converted shortly before her death later that year.”
Because of the devastation in Lahaina, much of the missionary history of Hawaii has been lost.
The latest news reports put the death toll from the fire at 114, and still climbing — already the “highest in modern U.S. history,” according to NBC News.
Today I urge you to stand with the survivors of this disaster by giving generously to Liberty Relief International.
We are partnered with a disaster relief organization currently on the ground helping the newly homeless, feeding the hungry, and ministering to the ones grieving in the wake of such loss.
Please send help to the hurting, in Christ’s name.
Thank you ... God bless you!
