Kenyan Chief: Persecutor Turned Brother In Christ!

Keep Up the Good Work …
Offer Hope and Help to People in Need

Wow!

That’s how I felt when I received a praise report from one of LRI’s partner ministries, and I must share the good news with you.

It tells of a village chief in Kenya — a man so opposed to the Gospel that he imprisoned a local pastor and other Christians for steering community members away from tribal religious customs — whose hard heart was touched by the message of salvation he surrendered to Jesus!

He heard about the hope of eternity with Christ at a recent funeral, about the need to be saved from God’s wrath, and came forward asking for forgiveness and giving his life to the Lord!

THIS is the power of your generosity through God’s grace at work in the hearts of people who desperately need Jesus!

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

The praise report ends with these words:

Please pray that in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Congo, and all other African countries where persecution of Christians is dramatically on the rise many more [leaders] want to be born again and thus set an example for their tribes.

As you lift this need for spiritual and physical to the Lord, I also urge you to give.

You will shine a light in the darkness for believers in nations where faith in Christ comes at a high cost.

You’ll give food, water, and shelter to those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, or loved ones amid persecution.

You will give comfort and encouragement to those who need a shoulder to cry on, who need hope for tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for your online donation right now — enabling our partners on the ground to respond with humanitarian aid and spiritual support where it’s most needed.

And thank you for rejoicing with us that another sinner has been saved by grace in a hostile land!
