Send Tangible Aid to the Suffering

Since the last time I wrote you, the number of deaths following the Syria-Turkey earthquake has increased drastically.

It’s deeply shocking.

“The combined death toll rose to almost 38,000 [Tuesday] after the tally in Turkey climbed to 31,974,” reported The Guardian. “At least 5,714 are reported dead in government-controlled and rebel-held areas of Syria—which is likely to be a significant underestimate. . . In Turkey alone, an estimated 1 million people have lost their homes and are living in tents and temporary shelters, while authorities have said at least 80,000 people have been hospitalised. Up to 5 million people (friend, that’s twice the population of Mississippi) may be homeless in Syria, many of them already internally displaced after having fled nearly 12 years of civil war.”

This unfolding crisis is happening on an unprecedented scale … and during a very cold winter.

Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and the men, women and children—including persecuted Christians—who have lost everything.
