Temps Below Freezing—And No Heat

Send Warmth to Ukraine

I recently received a partner update direct from the field.

As bitter cold continues in Ukraine, challenges like the following emerge:

Hundreds of miles from the front line, a state of emergency has been declared in Ladyzhyn, a town whose 18,000 residents lost their heating for a week.

As temperatures fell below freezing, residents started using electrical heaters, but they proved useless because of intermittent blackouts. “At night I have a headache, and my ear aches. I take pills,” says one elderly woman, sipping tea from a plastic cup. “As you know, cold and hunger aren’t good friends in such weather.”

There are 6.5 million internally displaced people in Ukraine … After more than a week of living in the “freezer,” people are praying Russian missiles do not strike again.

As I write you this email from a warm office, I boldly encourage you to give generously now to help brothers and sisters facing such suffering in Ukraine’s bitter cold.

Men, women and children are in desperate need of heat, food, blankets, emergency aid and other necessities as winter sets in.

Liberty Relief International’s dedicated and driven partners are providing the Ukrainian people everything they can, through the giving of friends like you, to keep them safe and sheltered.

Our partners are also offering spiritual and emotional comfort as they tend to their physical needs.

Please take action today. Reach out in Jesus’ name to the hurting and hopeless.

The partner update ended with these words:

Our teams continue to be amazing—cooking and delivering food and firewood as well as other supplies most every day. Please pray [for] strength and resources to continue these endeavors.

I echo this plea on their behalf.

Please be generous for their sake today. Thank you.
