Survivor: "Please Pray That My Heart Heals"

Oct 13, 2022

Hurricane Relief to Survivors

Maria* does not know how she is going to recover from what Hurricane Ian did to her home and all her belongings.

“I’m 60, and I’m a hard worker. I work hard as a housekeeper, and now I come home to see that all I’ve worked for is in ruins. I’ve worked for everything you now see destroyed.”

Now multiply this sentiment across tens of thousands of men and women who feel the same way—have the same hopelessness in their hearts—and you will understand why I am coming to you today with an urgent request:

Please make a generous donation today for Hurricane Ian victims like Maria—people who turn to our on-site partners for help.

Maria went on to say, “I know God will be with me, [and] it’s you Christians and others who keep coming by to help me, to check on me. Not even my own family. My son … in Puerto Rico didn’t even call to check on me. Please pray that my heart heals.”

I do hope you will pray …

That relief efforts will be quick and effective … that people who have lost loved ones will be comforted by the peace that passes all understanding … that survivors like Maria will feel God’s presence throughout the long hours, days and months of this ongoing crisis.

But I also urge you to send them practical help and hope as well.

Liberty Relief International has Christ-centered partners on the ground in the worst-hit areas, ready and willing to minister, feed, clothe and counsel those who are homeless and who cannot meet their own needs right now.

  • One partner is providing tens of thousands of daily hot, nourishing meals to victims, first responders and hospitals …

  • Another is helping with debris removal and damage mitigation as well as providing clothing, water and hygiene supplies …

All our on-site partners offer spiritual and emotional support. And your generosity, in Jesus’ name, makes it possible.

Thanks, many times over, for your compassionate response to our Florida neighbors in their time of desperate need.
