Let Me Tell You Tawana's Survival Story

Oct 11, 2022

Help and Hope to Hurricane Victims in Jesus' Name

When Tawana saw the storm surge rushing down her street as Hurricane Ian approached landfall, she went inside her house and cried.

She had been gathering her belongings to flee the storm, but it was simply too late.

  • Within an hour, she found herself in chest-deep water in her neighbor’s apartment.
  • There she’d stand—sleepless—in cold black water as the storm raged outside the door.

When the waters receded the next morning, the light of day showed Tawana what she feared most: She had lost EVERYTHING—her furniture, her clothes, her appliances, her van …

The only thing she salvaged was her Bible, cell phone and three beloved dogs, which survived by balancing on a floating mattress.

Almost two weeks after the hurricane hit, the community STILL had no power, no potable water and no transportation. While FEMA was supposed to pay a visit to the neighborhood, there is no timetable as to how long her belongings—now reduced to storm-ruined trash—will remain heaped on the curb.

For the sake of Tawana, her neighbors, her community and thousands more like her, please give generously to Liberty Relief International today.

Our on-the-scene partners—serving as meal providers, emergency aid distributors and shoulders to cry on—are working day and night to minister to survivors and be the hands and feet of Jesus ... physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Your contribution today will make a deeply meaningful difference in the lives of men, women and children who simply need a ray of hope, as did Tawana, in this uncertain and devastating time.

May God bless you for your compassionate response.
