As religious persecution continues to increase in dozens of nations in dozens of ways, I want to take a moment to share what’s going on around the world for fellow Christians.

According to Open Doors:

• In highly oppressive, extremely dangerous countries like Afghanistan (No. 1 on the 2022 World Watch List), the Taliban is committed ONLY to seeing that “Islamic rules and customs are implemented and kept.” One believer says the terror group is “killing our souls and spirits.”
• In Libya (No. 4), “there’s no freedom of speech, no freedom of religion and very limited possibility of public church life.”
• Militants “often murder Christians or destroy their property and means of livelihood” in Nigeria (No. 7).
• In Myanmar (No. 12), “Converts to Christianity in Myanmar find themselves persecuted by their Buddhist, Muslim or tribal families and communities."

It is no exaggeration to say that a Christian holocaust is taking place worldwide, and we must do what we can to bring Christ’s compassion to those suffering through it.
