Kidnapped while driving to church ...

This is the kind of danger—yet not the “worst” of it—that Christians in Nigeria face day after day, week after week.

“Four nuns were abducted while traveling on a highway in southeast Nigeria,” reported International Christian Concern. “The sisters were on their way to Sunday mass when a group of unidentified gunmen stopped their vehicle and kidnapped them.”

Thankfully, the women were returned to their convent days later ... but it was a frightening, persecution-driven crime nonetheless.

And abduction is only the beginning of what believers endure in Nigeria and in other countries where following Christ comes with a terribly high risk.

Abandonment, harassment, arson, attacks, false imprisonment, torture, rape, murder ...

The list of ongoing threats to our persecuted brothers and sisters is long. But I know your compassion runs deep.
