Let them know they are not alone!![]()
Christian churches closed—one after another.
Worshipers ordered to cease faith-based activities.
False charges against believers in Islam-dominated courts.
I cannot share their names … I cannot reveal their identities …
But all the above has recently taken place in Algeria—the No. 22 country on Open Doors’ World Watch List.
What I can do is pray for these brothers and sisters … and invite you to join me in supporting them in their desperate time of need.
Believers in Algeria are being mercilessly targeted by their own government.
Some are being convicted on charges of blasphemy and proselytism. Some have received lengthy prison sentences—just because they are Christians.
The pattern of religious persecution throughout the Middle East and beyond is hard for Westerners to comprehend … as is the despair and suffering of our fellow believers.
As well as spiritual and emotional support like trauma counseling, literacy and job training, Bibles and discipleship training.
Strict monitoring and control over churches have been the heartbreaking reality for far too many Christians in many nations, especially in Islam-dominated nations like Algeria, which has an estimated 98% Muslim population.
In countries where believers are in the minority, families, congregations and pastors face arrest, wrongful imprisonment, torture or worse because they believe in Someone the state refuses to tolerate.
At a time when there is overwhelming upheaval in our world, thank you for your prayers and generosity for our persecuted family around the globe.
