Girilal—a brother in Christ to you and me—is sorrowful today, looking for hope and in need of help.

Neighbors in his community in northern Bangladesh hate the fact that this man and his family love Jesus. They don’t like that Girilal has:

1. Left the Hindu religion.

2. Been a Christian for 10 years and counting.

3. Refused to renounce his faith on numerous occasions.

But a few months ago, when Girilal’s father passed away, neighbors demanded the funeral follow Hindu traditions, NOT Christian practices.

Girilal ignored them. His Hindu neighbors and relatives became enraged.

Tragically, they retaliated by burning down Girilal’s convenience store—taking away his livelihood, his only source of income.

Opposition to believers like Girilal is increasing worldwide. Regions that are predominantly Hindu or Muslim are especially dangerous for Christians.
