Christians In Middle East Dwindling

Jul 7, 2022

They need to know they’re not alone

You doubtless know that living as a Christian in the Middle East is highly dangerous.

Believers are intensely targeted, brutally persecuted and heavily mistreated—especially if they’ve converted to Christianity from Islam.

According to a report by the American Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East:

  • The population of Christians in the Middle East is now a mere 4%, down from nearly 20%—or 1.5 million—a century ago …

  • Iraq’s Christian population has dwindled considerably due to conflict and terrorism. More than 80% have fled the country since 2003. An estimated 150,000 remain, just 0.4% of the country’s 42.6 million population …

  • In Syria, the situation is just as bleak, with over 10 million Christians fleeing intense sectarian violence over the last 20 years.

It’s clear: LRI’s Christ-centered partners are desperately needed by the “few” brothers and sisters who simply want to live and work in peace in the Middle East. Our partners are dedicated to strengthening the Church in Syria, Iraq and beyond …

But we cannot do it without you!

Your support of Liberty Relief International helps end suffering and shares the practical love of the Savior with those who face aggression, torture, wrongful imprisonment, rape and even death because of their faith.

Every donation from caring friends like you translates into:

  1. Tangible help and hope.

  2. Emergency food, water and shelter.

  3. Medical care.

  4. Trauma counseling.

  5. Discipleship training for new believers.

  6. Bibles and Bible study materials.

  7. And more!

Christians across the Middle East—and other nations of the world—are some of the most vulnerable members of their society.

Please reach out to them today with the hands of our compassionate Savior.

Thank you!
