Christian Student Stoned, Burned By Islamic Radicals

Stand with Believers Worldwide

It’s disturbing to the core.

The Gatestone Institute reported that:

In Nigeria in May, "a Muslim mob beat, stoned and then burned the body of Deborah Emmanuel, a Christian college student who earlier had refused the sexual advances of a Muslim man. He retaliated by loudly proclaiming that she had blasphemed Muhammad, the prophet of Islam."

Such horrific violence against Christians, as you know, is so commonplace in Nigeria that attacks continue to appear in persecution-related news feeds but are seldom officially investigated. A local minister, after seeing video footage of Deborah’s murder, asks the questions you and I want answers to as well:

“Why does this keep happening? What is the content of the insult she was accused of? How was it investigated? What part of our constitution allows this? Why are we silent about this evil? Why are Muslim elites silent about this? When are we going to have this conversation to put an end to this evil?”

I know you share his outrage—his bewilderment—his pain.

And today, I urge you to stand with believers in Nigeria and in nations around the world who suffer greatly for their faith.

Liberty Relief International works with Christ-centered partners in dangerous places all over the globe to provide emergency aid to the persecuted and their loved ones.

You and I can be there for them, reaching out to the victims, orphans and widows.

Please give as generously as you are able today. Your tax-deductible gift will help believers in the hardest-hit regions and the most at risk of violence, torture, abduction or worse.

Deborah is now rejoicing with her Savior. She is free and whole—no longer in agony.

But millions of others need your compassion. The global Church in dozens of countries continues to experience unfathomable depths of abuse for following Jesus.

Thank you for answering the call to provide help and hope in His name.
