Stand with the Persecuted

Let me tell you about a young woman from central Uganda named Hawa ...

She visited a Christian neighbor to ask questions about Jesus. Hawa told the man she had been having dreams about Jesus. After a beautiful conversation about the Savior, Hawa got saved ... and attended church that very day!

But her father, a Muslim, found out about her conversion.

When Hawa arrived home that same evening, Morning Star News reports, he and her siblings seized her, beat her ...

Then he “took a sharp knife and pierced her eyes,” saying:

“I want to remove these eyes so that you stop seeing churches forever.”

Hawa’s “wailing and screaming drew neighbors who rushed over to rescue her” … but she later died in the local hospital after suffering such brutality.

She was only 28 years old ...

What a sickening, repulsive act, fueled by hatred for the name and person of Jesus Christ.

It is heart-wrenching to think about what Hawa endured at the hands of her own father.

Islamic persecution of Christians abounds in communities in Uganda, across Africa, in the Middle East and beyond.
