Jihadist Persecution in Burkina Faso Described In One Word

Jun 21, 2022

Intervene Today!

The latest persecution news coming out of Burkina Faso, in West Africa, is beyond upsetting—even beyond horrific.

The United Nations reported last week that “armed men launched an assault on the town of Seytenga, located in the Sahel region in the north of the country. At least 79 people were killed … ” (emphasis added).

Attacks linked to al-Qaida and the Islamic State group are soaring in Burkina Faso, particularly in the north,” The Guardian reported. “ … Nearly 5,000 people have died over the last two years in Burkina Faso because of violence blamed on Islamic extremists. Another 2 million people [about the population of Nebraska] have fled their homes, deepening the country’s humanitarian crisis” (emphasis added).

Open Doors also knows the depths of suffering our brothers and sisters in Burkina Faso are experiencing and reports that in the month of May alone, more than 110 people were murdered in two horrific attacks.

A senior analyst for the organization said, “The state is absent and security forces have great difficulty regaining the control of the area, leaving people unprotected, having to fend for themselves.”

Yet you can intervene today for the sake of persecuted Christians in West Africa and others caught in radical Islamic persecution’s brutality—right now—through a generous gift to Liberty Relief International.

Your tax-deductible donation today will provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to people seen as prey in the eyes of jihadists.

Our Christ-centered partners on the ground provide emergency food, water and shelter for men, women, children and families in desperate need of practical, tangible assistance.

Plus, through your generosity, our partners can also offer:

  1. Trauma counseling.

  2. Literacy training and job training for people starting over.

  3. Help in rebuilding churches and homes that have been destroyed.

  4. Bibles, study materials and discipleship training.

Please give today … and join me in praying for Christians who endure brutal persecution’s unspeakable pain.

Thank you.
