Persecution in Africa Claims 18 More Victims

Stand United With the Persecuted

Like you, I look forward to the day when “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain” (Rev. 21:4).

Until then, please stand united with brothers and sisters who suffer greatly under violent persecution.

International Christian Concern (ICC) reported that on June 5:

A raid by militants … in eastern Congo left eighteen people dead and many homes destroyed. The attackers were suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamic extremist group that started operating in the DRC during the 1990s.

Kimwenza Malembe, a resident of Otomabere, described the village attack in a statement to Reuters. “We were chatting with some friends outside (when) we heard gunshots, and everyone fled in a different direction. It was total panic,” he said. “This morning we counted 18 dead, killed by knives and firearms.”

Ruthless, wanton killing—like this most recent attack—has been going on for decades in the Congo ...

But it spurs me on to provide even more help and hope to the vulnerable.

I urge you today: Please don’t turn a blind eye to the suffering of our persecuted family. Whether they live in the Congo, in Nigeria, in other parts of Africa, in Ukraine, in Asia or elsewhere, they need your compassionate support.

Take a stand with Liberty Relief International today for Christians and others living daily under a terrible threat of violence, torture, kidnapping, rape or death.

Your partnership helps provide for immediate humanitarian needs like emergency food, water, shelter and safety for believers who are forced to flee deadly violence … as well as trauma counseling, emotional and spiritual support, Bibles, gospel-centered materials, discipleship training and more.

As you give, please also pray for our brothers and sisters around the world. Violence in regions of Africa, extreme persecution in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine are taking an unimaginably heavy toll on far too many.

Only God can heal the brokenhearted and provide the peace that passes all understanding. Thank you for your compassionate response.
