One Boy's Wartime Drawing: Worth a Thousand Words

May 19, 2022

Children in Ukraine Need Hope

The youngest victims in Russia’s war on Ukraine are undoubtedly the hardest hit.

A drawing by one little boy says it all.

A partner report I just received explains:

Pray for the children who have escaped from the destruction of their homes.

Trauma therapy for children reveals a lot from them drawing their experiences. Here is one example.

For a nine-year-old boy, the family spent a lot of time in a basement. He was afraid of bombs and rockets. They didn’t have a lot to eat, so his main concern was about food. [As he began his drawing], the basket was empty. He then added the sun, grass, and flowers, and turned the planes into birds, which were throwing eggs from the sky.

Please stand with Liberty Relief International today to minister healing to refugees, families and children in desperate need of hope. Even the slightest encouragement can transform a child’s horrific wartime experiences into a prelude for better days, as did the 9-year-old's drawing after his encounter with one of our partner ministries.

For every $30 you give, six Ukrainian refugee children and their families will receive a backpack full of supplies, including aid products, food and faith-based booklets.

Plus, you will:

Provide food, supplies and other necessities to the displaced—both those trapped inside the country and the refugees who have fled.

Offer one-on-one spiritual support and child-friendly evangelism materials.

And much more!

My heart breaks for the children of Ukraine. But Christ’s care, expressed through your loving generosity, can meet them right where they are through our multiple on-the-ground ministry partners.

Thank you, friend, for your compassion.
