Traumatized Voices from Ukraine

“A generous man will prosper;
he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”
—Proverbs 11:25

“Of Ukraine’s more than 4 million refugees, 90 percent are women and children,” Christianity Today reports. And “of the 6.5 million internally displaced Ukrainians, 54 percent are women.”

Valeriia Chornobai, a sociology and Christian ethics professor who stayed in Ukraine to minister to shell-shocked victims, says: “The refugees are destroyed in their inner being; as they come to us, they often are not able to speak. You don’t need to talk to them, but just sit in silence and share their pain.”

But amid the emotional toil is joy. Six women slept in what used to be her office; all six accepted Jesus. She even saw God’s healing when she prayed for one woman’s injured leg.

In the middle of such suffering and heartbreak … amid all the violence and utter despair …

God is using compassionate people like you to minister hope and healing.

LRI’s partners inside Ukraine and at refugee destinations are:

  1. Providing food, supplies and other necessities to refugees—both those trapped inside the country and those who have fled.

  2. Offering one-on-one spiritual support and child-friendly evangelism materials that point people to the One who saves, restores and heals.

  3. And more!

In fact, for every $30 you give today, six Ukrainian refugee children will receive a backpack full of supplies, including aid products, food and faith-based booklets.

If you can give $50, 10 Ukrainian refugee children and their families will be blessed … $100 will help 20 families … or you may even feel led to give much more.

Either way, thank you for standing with Liberty Relief International and, by extension, the people of Ukraine.

And thank you for praying for peace.
