What Must It Be Like for the Children?

Give Hope in Jesus' Name!

Millions of Ukrainians are still fleeing their homeland, their neighborhoods, their homes. It is estimated that nearly 4 million refugees are on the move inside and out of Ukraine.

Many of their cities have been invaded, bombed, shelled—literally torn apart.

NPR reports:

“Convoys of people who are coming out of Mariupol have been arriving [in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine] near Dnipro. They’re telling harrowing stories of being interrogated by Russian troops, of being threatened with being killed. They’re telling stories of being in basements for weeks on end with no electricity and no running water.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) tells the story of a mother who fled and is now a refugee in Poland:

“I never thought I would have to leave my home. That I would have to flee just to save my life,” Valentina says. The 42-year-old kindergarten teacher arrived in Poland on 5 March along with her eight-year-old daughter, sister, and baby nephew. They reached safety following an arduous week-long journey covering hundreds of kilometres by bus, train and on foot ...

UNHCR Poland’s Katarzyna Oyrzanowska says … “By far the largest part of the refugees are women and children. You hardly ever see a man. … All this is difficult for adults to cope with. What must it be like for children?”

Liberty Relief International is working with multiple partners on site to provide what these children and their families need as they struggle to survive.
