Your Prayers and Giving are a Lifeline to the Persecuted

Beaten and tied up to be burned alive, a Christian evangelist in Uganda describes a recent attack on his life … it is both chilling and heartbreaking.

According to Morning Star News, the man’s Muslim uncle berated him, accusing him of “being an infidel by converting to Christianity.”

He recounted the attack that ensued:

“He said to me that it is now the right time for me to receive punishment from Allah, whereby I was going to be burned alive and the birds of the air will enjoy me as their meat … They started beating me up as others gathered firewood, while another was sent to go for petrol.”

Thankfully, a friend helped him escape. He is being treated for his injuries in an unnamed area.

But this isn’t the first time his life has been threatened because of his faith. This man “has survived 11 murder attempts” in all, he told Morning Star.

It’s deeply shocking that such violence and abuse is so commonplace for Christians in intolerant nations. New believers’ acceptance of a loving Heavenly Father—and the saving grace of His Son—is often met with hatred and physical aggression.
