Afghani Christians Are "Running for Their Lives"

Jan 18, 2022

Your Afghani brothers and sisters need your support

A colleague of mine just forwarded an urgent plea from an Afghani pastor living in the United States who has been in contact with some of our brothers and sisters who are now living under Taliban rule.

“I talked to these Afghan believers who are stuck in Afghanistan,” the pastor said. “The Taliban recently discovered the existence of a house fellowship. They raided the fellowship and seized documents of all the members. Now they are running for their lives.”

“This reminded me of scripture from Hebrews 11:36-38,” he continued:

“Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated—of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.”

His closing words: “Let me know if there is anything we can do for these families.”

The wonderful news is, there IS something we can do for them!

Let’s stand together in prayer for these believers, and many others like them, who are hiding in the shadows … who are running for their lives.

And please give generously to meet their urgent, immediate needs.

Most of today’s headlines don’t mention the ongoing threat the Taliban poses to believers in Afghanistan. The realities on the ground just don’t fit the narrative provided by the Biden Administration and its media sycophants.

Christians and others are still being targeted, threatened, kidnapped, interrogated, tortured or killed by the terror group. And there is no mercy extended to “infidels” under the Islamic legal system.

The Federalist reports:

“Due to shortcomings with the SIV [Special Immigrant Visa] program, a chaotic withdrawal, and a lack of assistance to stranded allies or the aid groups assisting them, Afghan allies stuck in Afghanistan face constant danger with little hope for their future.”

Let’s do what we can to stand in the gap for Afghani believers today.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
