This Is What Suffering Looks Like

Tangible Help and Hope for the Persecuted

Hatred toward Christians affects them inside and out, impacting every aspect of life and society.

You need not look far for proof.

Several elementary-age children "defaced and damaged" Christian graves in Java, a highly populated island in Indonesia, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports. "It is suspected that the vandalism was motivated by religious intolerance, which was likely being taught at the school."

In Pakistan, a Christian man "was [physically] abused and threatened by Muslim coworkers at a hospital in Karachi after he received a promotion the month before."

He told ICC: "Even my family was harassed when a few men forcibly entered into my house a week ago. The men wanted me to withdraw from the position to which I was promoted. They did not like working under the leadership of a Christian. Therefore, I had no other choice but to step down."

In Afghanistan, Open Doors reports, "Christians from a Muslim background can be sent to a psychiatric hospital, because leaving Islam is considered a sign of insanity."

In Eritrea--known as the "North Korea of East Africa"--phone calls are monitored by the government, and Christians are relentlessly targeted for arrest and imprisonment without trial.

Lost jobs. Emotional abuse. Destruction or theft of property. Churches bombed or burned. A ruthlessly blind eye from law enforcement. Forced conversion to Islam. Forced marriage in Islam. Women harassed in the streets.

^^^THIS is suffering. THIS is life for millions around the world every single day.^^^

Please reach out today to suffering brothers and sisters in the name of Jesus.

Remind them that "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him" (James 1:12).

Your compassionate gift to Liberty Relief International will help our Christ-centered partners in hostile countries provide resources like emergency food, water, aid, necessities, access to health care ... and spiritual and emotional support like trauma counseling, discipleship materials, Bibles and more.
