Is There No Safe Haven in the Mideast for Christians?

Shine a Light, Send Aid

Our brothers and sisters in Lebanon face a dire future as this Middle Eastern country continues its fall into economic ruin.

International Christian Concern reports: “Government corruption, currency destabilization, and recent events such as the Beirut blasts are pushing Lebanon further into financial uncertainty and potential for collapse and state failure, leaving Christians without a safe haven in the Middle East. Lebanon has nearly a 40% Christian population, hosting Christian minorities fleeing conflict elsewhere in the region. …

“Following the August 2020 Beirut blast, Christians were attempting to leave the country for a new life. One advocacy group, IDC, estimates that around 60% of Lebanese citizens live below the poverty line.”

Additionally, Reuters says:

“Lebanon’s lights may go off this month because cash for electricity generation is running out,” one lawmaker said recently. …

“‘We should not forget that starting May 15, gradual darkness will start,’ said Nazih Negm, a member of parliament.”

It saddens me to see the country of Lebanon free-falling into financial chaos—with innocent bystanders, Christians and non-Christians alike, left with nowhere to turn.

Please join me in prayer for this country today and for the millions of Christians across the Middle East who daily struggle to survive in distressing circumstances.

I also urge you to give generously to Liberty Relief International today.

Your compassionate gift will provide urgently needed relief to brothers and sisters around the world facing disaster, persecution, violence and more.

You’ll empower our Christ-centered partners on the ground to minister with much-needed aid, including:

  1. Emergency food, water, shelter and safety for refugees and the internally displaced.
  2. Trauma counseling.
  3. Literacy and job training.
  4. Help in rebuilding and restoring churches and homes.
  5. Bibles, Bible study materials, discipleship training for new believers and much more.

Please pray. And then take your compassion one step further, for the sake of those suffering.

Give today to send physical and spiritual aid to those who need it most.

Thank you, in advance, for your support.

The impact you make, as a valued partner with LRI, goes far beyond dollars and cents.
