Christian Couples Dragged Before Iran's Supreme Court

Be Christ's Hands and Feet in Hostile Nations

“Two high-profile Christian cases have made their way to Iran’s Supreme Court,” reported International Christian Concern.

  1. Perhaps you remember the married couple I told you about some weeks ago. “The first case being considered by the Supreme Court for retrial is the prison sentences of Homayoun Zhaveh and Sara Ahmadi. Homayoun is 62 years old and has advanced Parkinson’s disease and was given a sentence of two years. His wife, Sara, … was given eight years. Both are currently serving their sentences in Tehran.”
  2. “The second case being considered is the removal of a young girl from her two adoptive parents. ... The courts decided to remove her from their care since she is considered Muslim [and they are Christian]. Though Lydia is still with her adoptive parents, she could be taken from them any day now.”

This is what life is like for many Christians in the Middle East—and other areas where Islamic persecution of Christians is prevalent.

Harassed. Targeted. Pursued.

Arrested. Sentenced. Imprisoned.

Relentlessly.

Their rights are stripped away by the government because they are not Muslim.

Iran is high on the Open Doors 2021 World Watch List. Its No. 8 spot means persecution is dangerously oppressive—at home, in the workforce and in public. Tragically, it’s “normal” for Iranians to think of Christians as a threat to Iran’s national security.

And yet, with your compassionate gift to Liberty Relief International today, you’ll reach out with the love of Christ to the persecuted and oppressed—in Iran, throughout the Middle East and beyond.

Through our caring frontline partners, you will:

  1. Advocate on their behalf—raising a voice against the terror they face and the wrongful accusations made against them.
  2. Offer spiritual and emotional encouragement.
  3. Minister to their physical needs when possible—feeding, clothing, giving water and providing shelter and safety.
  4. Provide Bibles and Gospel-based discipleship materials to strengthen our brothers and sisters in their faith and root God's Word in their hearts.
  5. Help rebuild churches and homes that were destroyed in attacks and raids by groups that hate the name of Jesus. And more.

I trust today that the Lord blesses you for being His hands and feet in hostile nations.

It is challenging work, but a blessing beyond words for the body of Christ.

In Christ,

Mat Staver
