Stand for Faith and Religious Freedom!

November 25th, 2020 is Red Wednesday...

An initiative established in 2016 by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), an international Catholic foundation.

  • It's an observance "intended as an act of solidarity with Christians around the world who have been persecuted for their religious beliefs," says Forbes.
  • According to ACN Canada, Red Wednesday is an "event aimed at highlighting the persecution and injustice suffered by Christians" as well as a general call to taking a stand for your faith and for religious freedom.
  • In cities around the globe, churches and buildings are often illuminated with red lights for the day, and people are encouraged to dress in red as well — a color associated with martyrdom in Christianity, says ACN Canada.

So, this week, in light of this spirit of solidarity with our brothers and sisters worldwide who suffer for their faith — and especially as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with gratitude for God's blessings in our lives...

Please give generously to Liberty Relief International.

You'll send practical humanitarian relief — emergency food, water, shelter and safety — to believers in need of immediate support and those who have been displaced by civil war, political unrest and violence.

You will empower our Christ-centered partners on the ground to offer spiritual and emotional support as well...

Provide counseling for victims of trauma ... literacy and job training ... and assistance in rebuilding churches and homes that have been attacked or destroyed. And you will help get Bibles, discipleship training and materials into the hands of Christians who need them!

You and I have an opportunity to be the difference in a persecuted Christian's life.

Why not step forward now — as generously as you can — in observance of Red Wednesday?
Thank you for your compassion and your willingness to reach into darkness and despair and shine the light and hope of Jesus Christ.

May God bless you for it!
