A week after defense forces in Cameroon’s civil war-ridden, English-speaking region were accused of killing at least 32 people, including a pregnant woman and 14 children, a Presbyterian church was burned to ashes, reports The Christian Post.
A church representative for Cameroon issued a statement making plain his deep concern and heartache for the country’s Christians: “We have failed as a people to protect God’s children. Surely God is vexed and we must repent as a nation.”

Just a few of many other attacks on Cameroon’s Christians over the last few years include:
Cameroon is a country divided. In some areas, Christianity is the majority religion, but according to the Open Doors World Watch List, Christians are a distinct minority in the northern region of the nation. Converting from Islam to Christianity carries significant risks of violence or ostracization from family and community.
Today I ask you to pray for our brothers and sisters there — and in the far-too-many areas of the world where Christians are aggressively targeted for their faith.
I also invite you to turn your compassion into action with a generous gift.
Liberty Relief International helps equip ministry partners on the ground in these regions with water, food and shelter for victims of persecution who need emergency relief. Some have been forced to flee their homes and start over … some need trauma counseling, literacy training and job training.
They can also help with restoration assistance to rebuild homes or churches destroyed in violent attacks — like the one I’ve shared here — and provide Bibles and discipleship materials to new believers and those seeking to know Christ.
I’m grateful you care enough to hear the cries of our suffering persecuted family. Thank you, in advance, for responding to the Lord’s call.
God bless you,

Mat
