A Syriac priest in Turkey has been indicted by authorities for joining a terrorist organization, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.
Accused of providing food and water to the PKK — an internationally recognized terror organization with a history of targeting Christians — the priest and two others were arrested in early January by police.
The priest was formally indicted a week later. But there’s MUCH more to this story…
The reality is: Many Christians do not have the option of withholding food and water from the PKK should they appear on their doorstep, ICC explains. However, Turkey often targets Christians trapped in such untenable situations for "aiding" a terrorist organization! The Islamic government of Turkey knows what the PKK does to people, like this priest, who refuse to help them but has no compassion for Christians whether they give in to the terrorists’ demands or not.
The Christian community in Turkey — ranked #36 on the Open Doors World Watch List for 2020 — is caught in the middle between the PKK and the Turkish government...
Which means it is a constant struggle for believers who are unable to live in peace and security.
