She needs you this Mother's Day

May 12, 2019

In honor of Mother's Day, I hope you will help Liberty Relief International take action on behalf of mothers and women who suffer greatly for their Christian faith in Muslim-dominated countries and other areas where Christianity is illegal. Please help today. -Mat

The stories we receive about courageous mothers, sisters, wives and daughters who worship Jesus in the midst of hostile enemies are both inspiring and heartbreaking. In the Middle East and other countries where Christianity is forbidden, the persecution of Christian women is especially complex and violent--and generally hidden.

Precious is the name of a woman of deep faith who has endured multiple death threats from her own family and tribe since she chose to follow Jesus. She knows those threats could be carried out on any day and her life would be over.

But customarily, a family that threatens death will first use severe physical violence to pressure a return to Islam.

Since Christian women lack social protection in Islamic society the violence goes unnoticed and unreported. If they do not wear a hijab, Christian women can become targets of harassment and inappropriate touching in the streets by strangers.

Christian women under house arrest might be chained to a wall inside the home and routinely beaten, or ignored as if dead and treated lower than a slave.

For a mother, even despicable forms of slavery are more acceptable than the alternative in that culture--the loss of access to her children.

Precious perseveres in the midst of this harsh persecution. She knows that God is at work on her behalf to keep hope alive as He builds His Church.

In honor of Mother's Day and women like Precious, will you help LRI send humanitarian supplies to areas enduring harsh persecution, and offer vital food survival kits, safe houses, trauma counseling, legal help and much more?

Your tax-deductible gift of 50, 100, 500 dollars or more is urgently needed today to minister to the needs of persecuted Christians and others in unbelievably desperate situations.

Working with Christ-centered partners on the ground in the Middle East and elsewhere, your support helps LRI meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of persecuted men, women, and children who are being targeted for their faith.

Though Precious' family leveraged her own sister to be one of her tormentors, Precious managed to share the Gospel with her sister--who accepted Jesus after He revealed Himself to her in a vision.

Precious and her sister have asked for prayer:

"We need you to pray for us that we will be like Christ in the field and pray for our provision, financial support for the workers and livelihood programs for the believers. Pray that our faith will grow and be strengthened. Pray that, for any persecution we encounter, we will face it by faith in Jesus Christ. Pray for all the Muslims that we share the gospel with, that God will open their eyes to see the Messiah. Pray also that many more Muslims come to know Isa [Jesus], and that they will also become workers of Isa al-Masih [Jesus Christ]."

Thank you for standing with LRI to pray for and care for our hurting Christians throughout the Middle East, northern Africa and the world.

God bless you,

Mat
